Summer 2016 : My Most Used Makeup Products

As we all know the Summer has come to an end even tho today has been a beautiful day, If your like me you wont be too sad to see Summer go because Autumn/Winter is my favorite time of year. In Ireland we don’t usually get really hot summers but this year we were lucky. Throughout the Summer I have accumulated my go to products for the perfect heatproof Summer face which I want to share with you today.

First off the perfect base is always essential during the summer to make sure your face stays put throughout the day. My go to primers and foundation are a mixture of new finds and old favorites.

My two go to Primers this summer have been a mixture of the Maybelline Baby Skin primer which is a silicone based primer that basically blurs out your pores and gives an even appearance to your skin, This product keeps my makeup looking fresh and flawless all day throughout sweating etc. This primer retails at €11.49 and can be bought from Boots or most pharmacies. The other Primer/Moisturiser I have been loving is the Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance balm which is said to be a dupe for Mac Strobe Cream, This is a peach toned luminous cream which gives a beautiful glow to the skin underneath your foundation. This product retails at €4.24 and can be bought in Boots.

About a year ago I discovered the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation which I fell in love with but of course in between trying out new foundations I forgot all about it. At the start of the Summer I decided to re purchase it to see if I loved it as much. This foundation is perfect for the Summer weather or even to wear to work coming into Autumn, It has a light – medium coverage with a beautiful natural dewy finish. This product retails at €11.49 but its usually on offer and can be purchased from Boots, Pennys or most pharmacies.

My go to concealer has been the Inglot Under Eye Concealer, a recent purchase of mine which I have been using all Summer. This product is a creamy yellow toned concealer which has medium buildable coverage and doesn’t crease once set with a  good powder. I picked up the shade 91 which is the lightest shade, This product retails at €16.00 and can be purchased from or any Inglot Counter.

In the summer we tend to lean towards Cream products rather than powder for a more natural look. I am loving the Sleek Cream Contour Kit in Medium, This product has a combination of contour and concealer shades which blend beautifully and evenly for a perfect cream contour. I am not too gone on the concealer shades I prefer a thicker creamier concealer and these are more of a lighter almost waxy texture. This product retails at €13.99 and can be purchased from Boots and some pharmacies.

As we all know highlighting has taken over the makeup game as of late, During the Summer I was all about the glow and this Freedom Pro Highlighting palette was the perfect product to use, This has a mixture of creams and powders which range from warm to cool tones to get the perfect glow. This product retails at €8.40 and can be purchased online from Tam Beauty or from certain pharmacies around Ireland.

I have been loving a natural brow this Summer and to achieve that I have been using the Penny’s Ps Love Brow Kit in Medium (I think , as you can see its well used) and over that I have been applying the Benefit Gimme Brow to add a little more coverage and definition. The Primark brow kit retails at €2,50 and can be bought in most primark stores and the Benefit Gimme Brow can be bought from Boots online or any Benefit Counter.

I kept my powder products to a minimum this Summer to try and avoid a heavy, cakey feeling with my makeup. The face powder I have been loving is the Flormar Terracotta Powder in Medium Beige, this powder has a beautiful satin finish which adds to the dewy finish of the Rimmel foundation, this product retails at €12.99 and can be purchased from Simply Foxy or some pharmacies.  The other powder products are the Inglot Sculpting powders in the shades 503 and 504. These powders are perfect for the summer as they are natural looking and blend out like a dream, they also come in a range of shades to suit all skin tones. These powders retail at €10.00 each and can be bought from or any Inglot Counter.

Last but not least is the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rose Gold, I received this last Christmas in a gift set. This is perfect for a natural day look all over the lid with a bit of bronzer in the crease and some mascara. The stick I have is a travel size and I think you can only buy these in the set around Christmas time. The full size retails at €30.00 and can be bought from or any Laura Mercier Counter.

What have been your go to products this Summer ?

Thank you for reading ❤
